What is the relationship between Delivery and shipping?
These terms seem to have a slight similarity in their definitions since they operate in the same basin. To put it as simply as possible: shipping is the date the product will leave the supplier’s warehouse while delivery is the date the package will make it to the customer’s doorstep. The terms are often confusing for customers; however, you can avoid this by providing two dates: the shipping date and delivery date.
What is shipping?
Shipping is the method of which cargo or goods are carried from one place to another or from the supplier to the consumer. This has always been the interconnection between the two major parts of the businesses which are the supplier and the consumer. Shipping is the process of transporting an item, usually through various methods. Shipping is a very basic, common way of getting an item from one place to another, or from one person to another.
What is Delivery?
The delivery service of the customers goods depends on the favorable way of delivery which the customer will have seen to suit his or her cargo for example one might be comfortable with collecting his or her goods from the shipping port say the goods were transported using sea freight and one might be a very busy customer and have no time to go fetch his stuff from the port and such kind will prefer his goods to be delivered to his or her door steps.
The relationship between these two, shipping and delivery is that whenever goods are transported from one place to another (shipping) there is a need for those goods to reach their final destination and carrying them to their final destination that’s delivery. So this simply means for the shipping process to b a success there is the need for the delivery process because without delivery the goods are to be left at some place out of reach of the customers and away from the desired destination by the customers.
